French weekly Courrier international launches in February 2011 its next special issue titled "Is this the end of the West?" The special issue analyzes the supremacy of the West that began with the Renaissance, which was absolute in the years 1880-1995 and is now beginning to fade. It will describe why the decline of Europe, started in the 30s, continues and why the United States, engaged in ruinous wars, will have to struggle to maintain leadership. Maps on the long period between 1500-2050 will show the rise and fall of the West, the dead-end where the United States are in, a European economic giant with feet of clay, how the West is seen by the rest of the world, ambitions of China and India and a gallery of portraits of intellectuals who believed in the supremacy of the West.
