Film Adaptation of Haruki Murakami's Novel in Hungarian Cinemas print
April 21, 2011

Romantic drama Norwegian Wood based on the novel of the same title written by best-selling Japanese author Haruki Murakami opens in Hungarian cinemas today. Although most of Murakami's work is a mixture of reality and fantasy elements, Norwegian Wood is a purely realistic nostalgic story about love, loss and sexuality, set in Tokyo during the late 1960s when Japanese students were protesting against the established order. The film adaptation stars Japanese actors and was directed by Tran Anh Hung, Vietnamese-born film director (The Scent of Green Papaya, Cyclo).

Bestsellers written by Haruki Murakami are available in English, German and Russian in the web shop of Hungaropress.
