Leading British newspaper The Daily Telegraph published an article written by Hungary's Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Tibor Navracsics who looked back on the first year in government and the 5 months EU-Presidency. Mr. Navracsics underlined that "it has been an honor to lead Europe during a tumultuous time in European and world affairs" and added that there was still much to achieve in the remaining days of Hungary's Presidency. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his regret about "the furor over Hungary's new media law, which overshadowed the initial stages of Presidency" and emphasized that the Hungarian government was "happy to enact the technical changes proposed by the European Commission to bring the Act into line with EU law". |
