The King’s Speech Won Four Awards at the Oscar Gala print
February 28, 2011

The King’s Speech won the most awards – namely four – at the 83rd Academy Awards Gala: the film was voted Best Picture, Tom Hooper the Best Director, Colin Firth the Best Actor in a Leading Role and David Seidler the Best Original Screenplay Writer. Natalie Portman received the Oscar as Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the Black Swan, while the Best Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role were Christian Bale and Melissa Leo from the film The Fighter. The other favorite, the Facebook-film titled The Social Network received 3 awards: Best Adapted Screenplay Writing, Best Music (Original Score) and Best Film Editing. Toy Story 3 won in the category of Animated Feature Films, and several Oscars went to Inception, too, while the biggest loser of the Gala without doubt is True Grit by the Coen-brothers: the film had 10 nominations and didn’t win any Oscars.

Why don’t you read the books behind the Award-winning movies? You can order The King’s Speech, Toy Story and The Accidental Billionaires in the web shop of Hungaropress.
