International Book Festival Budapest held for the 18th time in 2011 opens this afternoon at Millenáris and awaits its visitors until Sunday. First time in the history of the Festival, the Guest of Honour is not just one country and its prestigious representatives but the whole European Union. More than 40 countries take part in the Festival presenting altogether cca. 50 thousand books. The event offers a wide range of cultural programs, such as meetings with authors, signings sessions, book premiers and presentations, roundtable discussions, concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and films. This year's Guest of Honour Author is Swedish writer Per Olov Enquist, whose latest work titled A different life is published today in Hungarian language. |
