Company Nielsen published on the first day of this year their Top 100 list based on the summarized sales of English language books, i.e. the hierarchy of the 100 best selling books. Based on the results, the most successful book of the last decade – since when Nielsen BookScan has been launched – is Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, followed by the first Harry Potter book by J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s worth to mention that in the top ten, except for place nine, only Dan Brown and J. K. Rowling works are to be found. The only exception is place nine, where Stephenie Meyer is ranked with the first book of the Twilight-Saga. |
