The article titled “Sneaking Poison” published in the first 2011 issue of German political-economic weekly, Der Spiegel deals with the new Hungarian Media Law now taking effect as well as with its domestic and foreign reception. The article enumerates in detail the punishments stipulated in the new law, lists some of the condemning foreign echo and writes about the demonstration organized last December to protest against the law - the pictures of which could be often seen in foreign press. The article suggests that setting up the new media supervision authority is “original sin that reaches its effect in small doses, like arsenic. The result is sneaking poison”. |
