Pal Schmitt, President of the Republic of Hungary gave an interview to Time magazine. The full-page interview, with the title 'Hungary's Game Plan', was published in issue 43/2010, dated October 25. Schmitt denied that Hungary wanted to "get rid of" the IMF, and underlined that the loan provided by the organisation was indespensible in the hard times. Schmitt sees the way out of crisis via reducing unemployment rate and generating consume through that. Schmitt also mentioned the special tax on banks (frowned upon by the EU) and the measurements of the government to cut expenses. |
