Thirty years after the worldwide success of The Name of the Rose, Umberto Eco is writing a new book. The working title of the new novel, set in the nineteenth-century Europe of revolutions, is Il cimitero di Praga, unofficially translated to English as The Cemetery of Prague. Whether the story is set in Prague, or if it refers to a specific cemetaryx in the Czech capital, we don't know yet - Eco refused to reveal the connection of his new book to Prague. The publisher's teaser lines suggest that the novel is about a "cynical counterfeiter", who was secretively pulling the strings in European politics in the 19th century. Umberto Eco's new book, Il cimitero di Praga will be published in October in Italy. Two of Umberto Eco's novels can be ordered in our web shop in English: |
